After spending an average of $100 on Jewelmint each month, I wanted to see what Stylemint had to offer. My “Mint” addiction also propelled me to Shoemint where I purchased 2 pairs of shoes from Shoemint (with a $30 off coupon). The first pair was the Jolly from this post (here). In this outfit, I tried to style around Shoemint’s Kathy in Red Dalmatian.

Top: Stylemint Madison Tee (similar here)
Blazer: Zara White Blazer with Elbow Patches (simular here)
Bottoms: Ann Taylor Loft Modern Skinny Jeans (similar here)
Shoes: Shoemint Kathy in Red Dalmatian (similar here)
Jewelry: Loft Teardrop Necklace (similar stone pendant here)

It was one of those days. I rolled out of bed and said “I don’t know what to wear.” I grabbed my comfy and new Stylemint tee, a pair of jeans, a blazer and my Shoemint Kathy shoes. To me, this outfit is just an on the go ensemble.

The biggest hangup I have, is my hair. Most of the time it’s only in a ponytail. When my hair is newly washed, it’s so slick that any styling comes undone too quickly. So experimenting with my hair is best the 2nd day if I have time.

My daughter Megan calls these “The Tap Shoes.” I used to dance tap and the oxfords I used to dance in have a similar shape as these Shoemint ones. I haven’t broken the Kathy shoes in enough to do proper “wings” or “pullbacks” though.

This month’s Petite Fashion Challenge is hosted by the cool and sophisticated Couture Coco. I love her blog. She has a sassy fashion sense.
Holiday Emergency Senario
You have a pre-booked dinner date on the first day of your holiday. But the emergency is your luggage is delayed. So this month’s challenge is to style your travel outfit into a special evening look using whatever you carry in your purse and anything else immediately at hand (ie no running out to buy a new outfit!).

Top: Banana Republic Silk Blouse with Mandarin Collar and Side Pleats (similar here), Ann Taylor Loft Sleeveless Tank (similar here)
Jacket: Yesstyle StyleKelly Tweed Jacket (similar here)
Bottoms: A/X Jeggings (simialr here)
Shoes: Ann Taylor Loft Suede Pumps
Belt: Banana Republic Braided Metallic Belt (similar here)
Handbag: Chanel Wallet On Chain in Dark Red (similar here)
Jewelry: Jewelmint Persephone Pendant (here)
When I travel, I travel light, usually one carryon, and my handbag. The senario is if I had lost my luggage or its been delayed, I know that bag would have contained non essentials, like my party dress, dressy trousers, hair tools and products.

What I like about this outfit is that super comfortable. I know that I would have these pieces on hand in my carryon. A pair of jeggings, a loose silk blouse, a blousy sleevless tank, and a pair of heels. Oh and I can’t forget the jacket. I easily get cold, so a jacket is always nearby.

I love doing these fashion challenges because it pushes my creativity to another level. First I don’t think I would have layered at all. But the photos show that layering creates this dimension of color that I really like. I would have just worn the silk blouse, grabbed my coat and gone out. Next is the belt. By belting the loose fitting shirts, I created a waistline. Otherwise the shirts would make my body look like a pillow.
I’m always open to suggestions on how to make an outfit better. I’m learning myself, so I’m in no way saying I’m an expert.

I am not a skirt person because I feel like I am too old to wear one! I have kids who look so cute in tutus and frilly tulle skirts that they prance around. Are skirts able to transcend age?

I am trying for my 3rd child, so I have been preparing by buying clothes a bit larger in size. I came across a BCBG Lane Maternity shirt that cost $130! I was like “I’ll wait for Gilt or even stalk Ebay for it.” Well over President’s Day, I noticed the same Lane shirt on bcbg.com. For $98. Yes pretty steep still but compared to the maternity one, I do save over $30.

Bottom: Zara Colored Pastel Denim (here)
Shoes: Zara Peep Toe Wedges Ankle Boot (here)
Jewelry: Jewelmint, French Connection, Forever21

I hope everyone is having a great day! I am very happy because the project I’ve been working on at work is almost finished. It’s taken me almost a year to complete and I think it’s my most thorough project ever. Super happy and excited. I just have to make a few more tweeks and hopefully I get a big O-K!

I have been wearing these Zara zippered trousers everywhere! Not only are they comfortable but I love the Rock N Roll look. I am wearing a 40 in Zara sizing. That’s equal to a size 8 in US. I can fit a size 38 (size 6 US) however it was a bit tight. I always size up in pants while in tops I stick to my true size.
I have been shopping zara.com almost every night waiting for new arivals. Their clothes this season just appeals to me. I don’t know if Zara ever has any sales. On another note, I’m a big Ann Taylor Loft fan and hopefully they will have a sale soon. I cannot wait to use my $20 rewards coupon.
Has anyone ever heard Zara.com having a sale? Like 10% off or more?
