I fell in love with the Diane Von Furstenberg Lucy Printed Jumpsuit in Wing Dance Mini New Apricot. It was love at first sight. Unfortunately it was sold out on shopbop.com. I just had to have it and I shelled out $460 to get it from Net-A-Porter.com (double the price than on shopbop.com).

Sorry for the phone camera pictures. I did not find this jumpsuit appealing enough to break out the DSLR. I ordered a size 10 according to the size chart online. However when I tried it on, there were so many problems with the jumpsuit. It made me wish I had listen to the reviews around the internet.

The size 10 was based on a 31″ waist which is accurate. Fits me to true to size. But that’s the only place it fit me. The inseam was too long. I was already wearing 5″ heels and the pant legs were still dragging on the floor.

Because of the Kimono sleeves style, there was no shoulder definition. The boat neckline was too large on my frame and it puddled downwards. I understand it supposed create a waterfall effect but what happened was the two button closures on the back of the neck were heavier than the material. The neckline kept pooling backwards causing the front neckline to become a mock turtleneck (and it bit into the skin of my neck) while the back drooped too low.

And the worst part of the jumpsuit was the zipper part with hook and eye closure plus its 3 tiny snap on buttons along the side of the jumpsuit. My fingers are pretty slim and I usually have no trouble with tiny closure, but it took me about 5 minutes to snap and hook these closures.

The print is gorgeous and the material is a satin silk like crepe that is so comfortable. I so wished this was a keeper. DVF makes beautiful clothing that’s feminine and easy to wear. I was very disappointed this jumpsuit did not work out. It was swiftly returned and Net-A-Porter.com was quick to refund in full. I guess I should be happy about that. It did make me feel better that I did not have to waste time or money in the end.

Have you purchased something with high hopes and it disappointed you? Comment below and let me know!

I'm a mom of 2 girls. I struggled to lose the baby weight the second time around and by blogging my struggles helped me deal with a lot of the stress. During my struggles, I had random strangers ask me "How far along are you?" or "When are you due?" I was embarrassed. Most of the time I told them the truth, that I had given birth X months before. There were a couple of times I lied and said what they wanted to hear. When I was at a normal weight, I then struggled to find what clothes fit me. Everything about fashion went out the door and I had to re-learn what clothes and sizes fit my post pregnancy body the 2nd time around.
