Post Partum » Week 35 featuring the Cropped Cape

Totally loving this weather! (Except when it makes my kids sick.) It’s a cool day at 64 degrees. The sun is out, no more rain and out comes my turtlenecks and sweaters. My kind of weather.

I decided to reach for my Juicy Couture Cropped Cape today. I really like the high cut sides that makes the cape flare out. I forgot to take a picture of the lining which is a beautiful print of (I believe) Cherry Blossoms.

I have been exhausted lately. So exhausted I have not exercised or stayed dedicated on my Paleo diet. I try my best to stay grain free. Probably one meal a day, I’ll have something with grains. It’s just so easy to reach for something with grains like rice, pasta or bread.

Exercising at home or going to the gym has been nonexistent too. My gym membership expired so that’s been keeping me at home. That’s no longer the case since I just found out I could renew online. Awesome!

Dot Print » LC Lauren Conrad Shorts + Zara Bib Blouse

Do you go through a singular Brand shopping phase? During the first quarter of the year, I went through a Zara phase. This second quarter, a LC Lauren Conrad phase. I decided to do a post on a Zara/LC Lauren Conrad outfit.

I think this LC Lauren Conrad pair of shorts is a great investment piece. It’s very light and airy. Definitely what I’m looking for in hot and stuffy Houston. I had purchased some Gap shorts a month ago but the material is a stiff cotton that makes me feel constricted. Bessie from found a PJ like pair of shorts at Forever21 (post here). I’m very intrigued but I do not know if that’s my style. I think these shorts are the closest form of PJ like shorts I can get.

Bottoms: LC Lauren Conrad Floral Chiffon Shorts (here)

Simple Start » Basic + Neutral plus Bridesmaids’ Gift

Last week I confessed that I gained weight. Well I finally went back to the gym (after a 10 month hiatus) for a measly 30 minute workout, which by the way, I am achingly sore from. Playing up the attributes of my body, I wanted to cover up and create an illusion of being slimmer. With a drapey, a bit over-sized top, I tucked it into a pair of jeggings. The drapey top is a thin cotton material while my jeggings are a dark, dark wash to create a more streamlined look.

I would not wear this outfit to work unless I take off the heels. I cannot wear non-platformed heels to work without a warm soak at the end of the day and the wounds to show for it. I feel like this outfit is a good start to looking slimmer and creating a more toned body image. I feel good in this outfit unlike the gut showing one.

About the Bridesmaids gift, I had received the Fleur De Lis necklace when I was a bridesmaid for my friend Clare. She was also my bridesmaid when I got married. I have known her since 6th grade when she first started at my elementary school. We weren’t close until probably after she transfered to another high school in the 10th grade. It is funny how close you grow with someone under really strange circumstances. I’m not sure how we just gotten close, but I believed it was because we were there for each other at our lowest moments. Those moments defined our future and it moved beyond our past. And when I look at this necklace, it is beyond a gift, it becomes a memory. For that, I will cherish it forever.

Petite Fashion Challenge #15 – Chic Pin-spiration

April’s Petite Fashion Challenge is hosted by the lovely Megan at Long Live Classy. She has such a vibrant and fresh persona.

This month’s fashion challenge is:

Be sure to post the pic of your outfit inspiration in your post as well!

Check out my outfit.

My Pin-spiration outfit:

Pinterest by way of

Top: J. Crew Camp Shirt
Jacket: J. Crew Field Jacket
Bottom: Faux Leather Leggings from
Shoes: Kenneth Cole Reaction Wedges
Handbag: BCBG Studded Leather Crossbody

I chosed this outfit from Atlantic-Pacific because I have similar items in my wardrobe. I don’t have an all weather military trench like Blair but I do have a field jacket. I do love how casual she makes the outfit yet it’s still polished.

Pinterest is so addicting. I can spend hours on the site and there are so many pictures that just pops out and makes me want every outfit. Thank you Megan for hosting this great fashion challenge. It was truly so difficult to find the right picture and make it one’s own.
