Top: Cowl Neck Long Sleeve and Striped Boatneck Layering Shirt – Ann Taylor Loft
Bottom: Petite Modern Slim Leg Corduroy Pants – Ann Taylor Loft – sz 28 Petite
Shoes: Banana Republic Studded Wedges (old)
I bought the Cowl Neck Tee in 3 different colors – Desert Sand, Ultra Plum and shown Mystic Ocean. I love these cowl necks. They are soft and comfy. I like these more than a turtleneck because it’s looser and doesn’t constrict. So if it gets too hot outside, I’m less likely to overheat. For a nippier days, I’ll add the boatneck tee underneath for extra warmth. Now it hasn’t been getting that cold. It’ll be windy, and chilly in the morning but by noon it’s in the High 70s. Perfect for shorts and a tee. By putting on thin layers and just pulling them off when the weather changes, I’m able to adjust my outfit right at work or wherever I’m at.
I don’t feel like I’m wearing that much layers. It’s very light. The same goes for the Modern Slim Leg Cords. The ones I’m wearing is Incense Khaki. I also have it in Pink Rouge and Grey. These are lightweight cords that hug to my body and don’t feel like denim at all. The only complaint is that when I walk, the fabric on the inside of my thighs rubs together and it makes this grrrr, grrrr noise. A bit annoying.

Sunglasses: Cat Eyes – Ralph by Ralph Lauren
These glasses are not the average dainty sunglasses. I love the tilt of the glasses – the cat eye expression- very seductive. Why I had to have this pair? It’s PURPLE! Yes, the other side is striped purple to give a funky edge to the sunglasses. This is my go to pair now. It fits nicely and doesn’t pinch the sides of my head (like my Michael Kors one) and there is no pressure on my ears.
This entire outfit is easy to wear. I can wear it grocery shopping, hanging out with my kids, even go to my work (my office doesn’t have a dress code but still need to keep it professional). The pieces of clothing are easily mixed and remixed.
Have you run into any versatile pieces lately?

And there’s an app for that too.

I have been a fan of Zara since moving to Houston. I instantly fell in love with the unique style of Zara. It was unseen of more or less unheard of in my little town of New Orleans. I picked up several pieces over the years. Some ridiculously cheap and some closer to the $100 mark. But I have given away most of my Zara clothing after my pregnancies. Zara’s clothing runs about 1 size smaller than the average U.S. retailer (Gap, Ann Taylor etc). I am usually okay around the bust area (that’s for being way too small), but as soon as I try to button something over my waistline, it won’t fit. (That’s for having 2 kids.)
Even though Zara is down the street (yes but it’s a really long street, that usually takes 20 minutes to reach Zara), I find myself wishing for an online shop that I can just browse in the comfort of my own home. And finally it’s come to fruition.
Thanks Zara for making my Christmas wish come true. Unfortunately my husband will totally go berserk over this shopping spree.

Isabella Oliver was my go to clothing line for maternity wear when I was pregnant. I love their clothes. It is feminine, versatile, and comfy. I was so happy when they made a line for everyday women. I still see the same qualities are instilled into their causal clothing. They are a UK based company with lady like womenswear pieces that are very fashionable nowadays. Get Free FEDEX EXPRESS Delivery when you purchase over $199.00. It’s an amazing deal.

I have been seeing many celebrities rocking this trend for quite sometime. I would say for over a year now. I live in the south and it is immensely hot and humid to even think about wearing a jacket during spring, summer and fall!
That was a year ago. And while I was pregnant.
This season, after the baby bump is gone and I’m just left with a bump, I decided to drag out my suit blazers. I found that I could pair loose fitting camis, tanks, shirts with a blazer over to define my waist more. It also gives the appearance of a “pulled together” look. I was amazed.
I decided to go shopping for a boyfriend blazer, which just means a longer length jacket. You’ll also notice boyfriend blazers have sleeves that can be folded up to show a pinstripe lining. It’s for style contrast.
I went to Ann Taylor outlet and found a black boyfriend blazer in my size at $49.99. Got to the register and was charged $29.99. YAY!!! So now I am trendy and I’m loving how a simple blazer can slimline my post baby body.

available through kohls.com
I am loving the Lauren Conrad Collection for Fall 2010, only available through Kohls and kohls.com.
Her clothes are simple, feminine, and very sophisticated. And by the price, pretty affordable. Her clothes are priced around $22.00 – $59.00 for tops, bottoms, and dresses.
I think she is doing the fashion thing very well. I think when she first had her line through Bloomingdales, it was way too over priced. The crowd for Bloomingdales are not going to be the demographic that will buy her clothes.
This year the style is leaning towards an English sophistication with the tall knee boots, ruffles and the airy prints. I see this in many stores such as Ann Taylor Loft and Express and The Limited.
