Power » Rachel Zoe Blazer + Short Shorts

I had picked up this Rachel Zoe Hutton Blazer from Gilt.com about week ago. I love blazers. They can just pull together most outfits and make it more … Powerful. Authoritative.

What drew me to this blazer was the satin collar. I don’t know if you can tell from the photo. I think many fashion designers this season have been using a leather collar which gives the blazer a more tough look. The satin collar on the other hand, with it’s shine-ness, is mesmerising. I cannot stop myself from looking at the different texture.

I think Rachel Zoe with her “special, spastic lingo”, really knows body types. She knows what materials can highlight and just make a person go “Wow.” Also note the sleeves of this blazer. The bell sleeves are super cool however super long on me (planning to get it altered), so I just cuffed it.

I'm a mom of 2 girls. I struggled to lose the baby weight the second time around and by blogging my struggles helped me deal with a lot of the stress. During my struggles, I had random strangers ask me "How far along are you?" or "When are you due?" I was embarrassed. Most of the time I told them the truth, that I had given birth X months before. There were a couple of times I lied and said what they wanted to hear. When I was at a normal weight, I then struggled to find what clothes fit me. Everything about fashion went out the door and I had to re-learn what clothes and sizes fit my post pregnancy body the 2nd time around.

  1. I love those shoes. I bought them myself a few months back, but they were SO PAINFUL. I put them on and they hurt before I could even stand. And when I took them off, my feet were still hurting 10 minutes afterwards. And I have narrow-ish feet! Now I’m on the hunt for something similar that doesn’t hurt so much. =/ I’m always intrigued by Rachel Zoe items, but I’ve read so many bad things about the quality, I’m just afraid because of the hefty price tag. Nice to finally see someone who actually likes her stuff!
