I found some great beauty products lately and I’d like to share some with everyone reading. After having a baby, my hair becomes really brittle. With my first two children, approximately 2 months after giving birth, my hair would fall out in clumps! With Annabelle, I took more care with my hair. I changed my shampoo (from Herbal Essence) to Clean Total Care Shampoo and I added Omega 3’s to my diet (lots of salmon and fish oil pills). I really think it has helped because my hair feels healthier and it’s not shedding at an extreme rate. The only complaint I have with this shampoo is that it makes my hair feel really ‘squeaky’ when I’m shampooing. *Tip: A way to lock in shine to your hair is by shocking your hair with cold water right before you exit the shower. I never do it until recently. I find that it really does make my hair shine more.

Since my hair has been really superb lately, I wanted to find more products that can help maintain the shine especially since I blow dry every time I shower. Going by many recommendations online and Lauren Conrad’s, I got Organix Moroccan Smooth Perfection Blow Out Cream. Just a dollop of cream, rub between both hands and run through my hair. I blow dry and the cream helps keep my hair and scalp from drying out 9no more dandruff). Later when my hair is dry, I tie up my hair with creaseless elastics. These are hair elastics that are ribbons. They don’t leave a weird crease in your hair. I always had that hair problem and I was not going to stop putting my hair in a ponytail.

I finally splurged and purchased a Chanel Le Vernis Nail Color in Quartz. It was a discontinued product from Spring/Summer 2012 but Chanel brought it back. I had wanted a darker nude shade for a while so when Chanel was having a complimentary Overnight Shipping for purchases $50 or more, I had to get it. The color is a dark nude, almost tan with shimmer. There are probably so many reviews online. Check out a review on The Beauty Look Book. Another purchase from Chanel was my usual Perfection Lumiere Foundation in Beige Rose. But I was surprised that Chanel had upped the SPF from 10 to 15. Did it maintain the same coverage? Not as quite. I feel like my foundation wore off a lot quicker than the previous Perfection Lumiere with SPF 10. There’s more shine on my T zone too. Or maybe this new baby is causing my skin to change? Sleep deprivation? I don’t know.

Lastly was a purchase at Target – Pixie Tinted Brilliance Balm in Radiant Rose. It goes on like a muted Hot Pink but eventually changes to a rosy pink on my lips. Very cool indeed.

Any recommendations for me to try next? I’m looking for a bronzer for the upcoming dreary winter. Keep me posted!

I'm a mom of 2 girls. I struggled to lose the baby weight the second time around and by blogging my struggles helped me deal with a lot of the stress. During my struggles, I had random strangers ask me "How far along are you?" or "When are you due?" I was embarrassed. Most of the time I told them the truth, that I had given birth X months before. There were a couple of times I lied and said what they wanted to hear. When I was at a normal weight, I then struggled to find what clothes fit me. Everything about fashion went out the door and I had to re-learn what clothes and sizes fit my post pregnancy body the 2nd time around.
