When You’re On The Run, Dinner’s Last On Your Mind

I work 6 days a week. I take care of my 13 month old baby. I take care of my husband. I cook and I clean. My husband helps me around the house, but of course he can’t read my mind, like “put laundry in washer.”

After a long day at work, the last thing I want to think of is dinner. I dislike coming home without knowing what to eat. But that happens a lot. When i don’t know what’s for dinner, the family usually heads out to a restaurant. So It’s like $30 or more dollars for dinner. Or when I don’t know what’s for dinner, I would get home and figure out what we all want. What can my husband eat, can my baby eat along, me – I’m easy, I’ll eat anything.

Sometimes the food is easy to make. Sometimes I lack things in the kitchen and then I would search for another recipe. Cooking – I love it and I hate it!

But for the past 2 months, I have been going to Super Suppers (http://www.supersuppers.com/). They have locations all over the U.S. They make your meals for you. All you do is head out to a storefront 1 time a week, and pick up all your meals. As many as you want.

A regular sized meal equals 3 servings which is just enough for me, my husband to share and for our baby to mooch. A regular size is $12.00 at my location. The size also comes in a full size which is equal to 4-6 servings and is $24.00. That’s amazing! 1 serving – $3-$4! That’s all.
It’s packaged in zip lock bags or aluminum trays for easy baking. Most meals take about 15-20 minutes to make. Their menus change each month also. So your family won’t be forced to eat the same old things over and over again.

Last night we had Swedish meatballs with noodles and it was DELISH! I even had a bit left over for this morning’s breakfast. They make all their selections without any preservatives. I love how my family is eating healthy.
Visit your local Super Suppers or something like that. In the Houston area we also have Chef For You and several more. Google Personal Chefs in Houston or wherever you’re located.
They have great meals and it saves you time. Us working moms need more time for family.

Sale? I’m There

I always love a good sale, especially for good quality couture stuff. Shopbop.com is a great place to get the name brand clothing. But sometimes they have really great sales.

I love this “Dolman cardigan” or maybe it’s just the model wears it well. The best part is that this once $125.00 cardigan is now only $37.50.

Unfortunately I found it too late and it only has a Large. Sometimes size won’t stop me from getting it but I don’t have the habit of picking anything that is ON SALE. Anymore.

I’ve made those mistakes before.

::sigh:: I’ll find something else though.

Warning: It’s HOT!

Plum Spooky by Janet Evanovich

Turn on all the lights and check under your bed. Things are about to get spooky in Trenton, New Jersey. According to legend, the Jersey Devil prowls the Pine Barrens and soars above the treetops in the dark of night. As eerie as this might seem, there are things in the Barrens that are even more frightening and dangerous. And there are monkeys. Lots of monkeys. Wulf Grimoire is a world wanderer and an opportunist who can kill without remorse and disappear like smoke. He’s chosen Martin Munch, boy genius, as his new business partner, and he’s chosen the Barrens as his new playground. Munch received his doctorate degree in quantum physics when he was twenty-two. He’s now twenty-four, and while his brain is large, his body hasn’t made it out of the boys’ department at Macy’s. Anyone who says good things come in small packages hasn’t met Munch. Wulf Grimoire is looking for world domination. Martin Munch would be happy if he could just get a woman naked and tied to a tree. Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum has Munch on her most-wanted list for failure to appear in court. Plum is the all-American girl stuck in an uncomfortable job, succeeding on luck and tenacity. Usually she gets her man. This time she gets a monkey. She also gets a big guy named Diesel. Diesel pops in and out of Plum’s life like birthday cake – delicious to look at and taste, not especially healthy as a steady diet, gone by the end of the week if not sooner. He’s an über bounty hunter with special skills when it comes to tracking men and pleasing women. He’s after Grimoire, and now he’s also after Munch. And if truth were told, he wouldn’t mind setting Stephanie Plum in his crosshairs. Diesel and Plum hunt down Munch and Grimoire, following them into the Barrens, surviving cranberry bogs, the Jersey Devil, a hair-raising experience, sand in their underwear, and, of course . . . monkeys.

I’m telling you, I love Stephanie Plum. I especially love the love “rectangle” between Joe, Ranger, Diesel and Stephanie. It makes my heart thump thump like mad! Joe is funny as always. And I am a Cupcake forever. But then there’s a part of me that wishes Stephanie would stop being practical and jump at a chance with Ranger. Diesel, now he’s just a boy toy on the side for Stephanie. =)

I am kinda in awe that Ranger shows a bit more reaction to Stephanie in Plum Spooky. I think in Fearless Fourteen, many readers felt let down because Ranger just popped in to say “Babe” and popped away for way too many pages in between his scenes. This “in-between-numbers” book was great. Just the right amount of Joe and Ranger. And of these “in-between-numbers” book has to feature Diesel way more.

Ranger showed a bit more affection, comforting Stephanie after getting chased by Wulf. I am intrigued by Wulf. I wonder if he’ll appear more often.

The whole bit with Carl the monkey is hillarious! I love monkeys. They are super smart and it is so great to see more of Carl.
