Happy Fourth of July! I hope everyone is having a great time with a mid-week day off. So rare right? Rare like this Stella McCartney Trench Cape that has been on my radar for a while now. I have seen it on Anh from 9to5chic.com and now the lovely Wendy from Wendyslookbook.com.
My search ended on Ebay but not with the Stella McCartney trench cape. It’s a look a like in a different color.
The cropped trench is very cute with a 3/4 sleeve rather than long sleeves. And it is a thin cotton trench not as high quality as the Stella McCartney trench. I do like the color and the sizing is all right. There are some thread snags already. But I get what I paid for. I just love the look of a cropped trench and the pleated back with the curved sides.
I have found a super look a like of the Stella McCartney Trench here at a fraction of the cost. I purchased it but haven’t put together an outfit yet. It’s been too hot to even try to wear it. I rather wear the Ebay Chinese replica trench because it’s just a lot thinner and more appropriate for the Texas weather right now. People already think I’m crazy for wearing a jacket but with the rainy weather lately, my neighbors haven’t been giving me the weird eye look.

I love that trench on you! I’m thinking about ordering but not sure about the sizing. I am 5’2″ and 105 lbs. do you think this would be too big for me? Any feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated 🙂

This type of trench is made to be worn baggy, so I think it would work. I am 5’6, 128lbs and after wearing this trench a couple of times, I noticed that I cannot button the top button because it’s too tight on me. Also shoulder to shoulder measurements are 14.5″ while I normally feel more comfortable at 16″. I think the shoulder to shoulder is small for me and that’s why buttoning up chokes me.
Some other measurements:
Length: 22″
Armpit to Armpit: 27″
Shoulder to End of Sleeve: 16″
Armpit to End of Sleeve: 9″
In my opinion, because the trench is a bit tight around the neck on me, I do believe it would fit you better. You can check the measurements against your body and see. Hope that helps! Thanks for stopping by.
