Tilt » Pinterest Inspiration Part 2

by dietingfashion on May 11, 2012

I hope you are enjoying your Friday! Longliveclassy.com hosted April’s Petite Fashion Challenge in which participants had to recreate a Pinterest look.

For my entry, I had chosen Blair from Atlantic-Pacific. You can see my post here. However, it was not my original Pin-spiration. I had wanted to recreate a 9to5chic.com photo.

I love the colors of the outfit, but I did not have peep toe shoes like Anh. So the sophisticated look was thrown off course a little bit. I still like the outfit and wanted to share what would have been the entry photo.

I love this red peplum skirt by Zara. I really like the peplum skirts more than the peplum dress from Zara. The only complaint I have about this Zara peplum skirt is that it wrinkles really easily. It’s linen with viscose.

Top: Loft Draped Bow Chiffon Top (old – closest one I could find here)
Bottom: Zara Peplum Skirt (here)
Shoes: Zara Peep Toe Wedges (sold out online – check stores)
Bag: Chanel Wallet on Chain
Sunnies: Nine West Tortoise Sunglasses (old)

Happy Mother’s Day!

Hugs » Swathed In Sparkles

by dietingfashion on May 9, 2012

Hello everyone! Thank you for taking time out to read my blog.

Indeed, I have been wanting a really nice sequin dress. I believe sequins are flashy in a very sophisticated and elegant way. Especially in an appealing color.

This is such a body hugging dress that I had to pull out the Spanx! This dress is really better made than the Zara Sequins dress (from this post). The Zara sequins dress is not as body hugging. It’s lined with a slinky material that rides up at the neckline. I had to repeatedly smooth under the lining of the collar. The sequins of the Zara was already being pulled and the threading was becoming loose with strands.

The BCBGMAXAZRIA Marta dress is beautiful. I love the nude, blush color. I believe this is the new hot trending color following the mint craze. I had purchased a size Small because the review said it runs larger. However, on me, it was hugging much more than I expected. Hopefully shopbop.com still has the Medium.

Shoes: Zara Metal Toe Cap Shoes (here)
Bag: Chanel Wallet On Chain

Playful » Florals with Peplum Skirt

by dietingfashion on May 7, 2012

What a weekend! I hope you had an eventful Saturday and Sunday as I did. Two Weddings and two wedding receptions. I’m still stuffed with good food and GREAT cake. I love wedding cakes.

I have not sort through the wedding photos but I hope to get to it soon. I tried to remember to take photos of everything. It is very difficult when you are having fun and forgetting all about photographing.

When I got married, ummm, hummm …. years ago, many things were different. Invitations cost an arm and a leg yet very plain designs. Nowadays, invitations are a bit less expensive yet with gorgeous designs. A friend found her invitations at Hobby Lobby and printed it all by herself. I was blown away at such pretty and elegant invitations.

Also cake designing has taken off at an unbelievable level. The presentation and decorations are so unique and oh so beautiful. I remember my cake as buttercream with strawberries inside yet it was very plainly decorated. My cousin at the last minute took some fresh flowers and pinned it to my cake to create more color and dimensions. Thank goodness for her quick thinking.

A date night look with a romper and a Zara Floral peplum skirt. I did not like the Peplum Dress by Zara (from this post), however this skirt is so cute and fun. You can see the romper here. The romper has these cute petal print that goes very well with the colorful florals of the skirt.

Top: Joie Bergamont Floral Romper
Skirt: Zara Floral Peplum Skirt (here)
Shoes: Ann Taylor Loft Strappy Heels
Bag: Chanel Classic Flap Medium

Beaded » Accordian Pleated Dress

by dietingfashion on May 2, 2012

Sales sales and more sales. Is it because of Mother’s Day that every clothing retailer is having a sale? Was it like this last year? Somehow I feel like my inbox is saturated with SALE emails this season. Well it only bothered my checkbook.

I have been having fun dressing up. I really like this dress and I’m thinking of wearing this to the 2 weddings (in 1 day) next weekend. The beading is gorgeous and makes the dress look so young and fresh.

It’s a comfortable but very elegant dress. The material is superb and not prone to wrinkles. This is the type of dress I am looking for. To travel to 2 different states for 2 weddings in 1 day and not enough time to change, I want a low maintenance dress.

Dress: Tibi Pleat Beaded Dress (here)
Shoes: Zara Toe Cap Pumps in Yellow (runs large , here)
Jewelry: Jewelmint
Bag: Coach Clutch

What do you think of the dress? Just don’t look at the price!
