LC Lauren Conrad Kohl’s Purchase

by dietingfashions on October 28, 2011

I purchased from Kohls.com the following:

LC Lauren Conrad Pointelle Sweater – I bought the Doeskin and the Marsala colors. I love sweaters and I love the sweetheart mock neckline.

LC Lauren Conrad Striped Pleated Shorts

LC Lauren Conrad Pleated Chiffon Skirt
– I purchased it in the color Cafe Tint.

LC Lauren Conrad for Kohls Outfit - Marsala Color Pointelle Sweater + Pleated Chiffon Skirt

The skirt is a bit tight even at my usual size 6. The skirt is made to sit on your waist. It is beautiful and flowy. My daughter loved it. She kept lifting the skirt up and feeling the chiffon.

I rather have gotten the Cream colored Pointelle Sweater (like the one Lauren wears) to match better with the skirt. But it is unavailable right now. The sweater is really nice and thin. Very delicate and the thread can easily come apart.

Pleated Stripe Shorts with Pointelle Sweater in Doeskin

I never worn stockings with shorts before but it’s doable. I got the shorts in a size 6. It fits alot better than the skirt did. I do like how this outfit turned out. Very causal but with heels, it looks a lot more glamorous like an outfit for the clubs. Though after standing in heels for the entire day, my feet hurts now.

Do you like the outfits? Which do you prefer?

Review: Sunless Tanning Lotions

by dietingfashions on October 27, 2011

Neutrogena Build a Tan Sunless Lotion

Neutrogena was a cheap sunless tanning lotion. I got it at Target for less than $7.00. It works good for the price, however it does streak. There is no strong smell to it, and the drying time is about 10-15 minutes. I wish it worked a lot better.

Regarding any skin reactions, it was mostly isolated – on my neck and other sensitive parts like my thighs. There were patches of redness that lasted 3 days max.

Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel

I cracked and went to Sephora. I picked up Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel. Why? Because there was a special. Original price of this squeeze bottle is $33.00. It got it for $35.00 with an exfolitating lotion and a liquid bronzer plus a carry case. Yes I got suckered in by the carry case. Who wouldn’t be?

How well did the Instant Gel work? Pretty good. I was really surprised. There was no patchy redness and the scent was really pleasing. That is until my husband asked me “Why are you feet different colors?” I looked down at my feet in ballet flats and noticed that it was streaked tan and my pale skin. I just told him the truth, “I guess I need to practice applying the tanning lotion more.”

Is there a Sunless Tannning Lotion you used with no problems?

Review: Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Shampoo

by dietingfashions on October 26, 2011

Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Shampoo

When I was pregnant, I used this shampoo consistently. I loved the smell of it. According to Herbal Essences’ website, it is formulated with passionflower sunrise and pearl. I don’t know what that means. During my pregnancy, it was the only shampoo scent I could stand. It gave me great hair – lots of body and lustruous shine to my hair.

Now post-pregnancy, I think the whole shine shebang, was due to my pregnancy hormones. Some women during pregnancy get the shine, the glow, and all the good stuff. I guess I was one of them. Because after giving birth, and now that my hormones have regulated, this shampoo causes a lot of dandruff. Not the tiny specks but large pencil eraser sized patches of scalp. It is the oddest thing.

It is a shame. My husband recently bought the Sam’s club bulk size of the shampoo.
